Looking to the future
As long as corporate America is in existence there will be a need to manage the real estate owned by a company. Rather than a third party service provider representing the company in acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing, corporations have found it worthwhile to have an in-house position whose only responsibility is corporate property. A corporate real estate generalist increases the corporations bargaining power and will continue to be invaluable to firms in both short and long term decisions involving corporate real estate.
